Apologies for the lack of OOTDs and all that, but i have been under the weather for quite some time now. Its been a mission to drag myself out of bed, much less actually dress up to try and look good. And lets just say, the weather hasn’t been helping either. But i will fix that as soon as i can, i promise!
I wanted to share my ‘hair care routine’ with you guys today. I like to think that i have discovered the perfect combination of products that works wonderfully with my hair and so, i thought i’d share it with you guys.
Because my hair is color treated, i got rid of all sulfate-containing hair products. Recently, i have been loving this shampoo and this conditioner combo from Nexus, and its really been doing wonders with respect to keeping the color, vibrant and true and my hair, soft and smooth. (For an additional list of products for color treated hair, click here.)
I also use hair masks once a week. I do try and switch them up every so often, just so my hair doesn’t get used to one kind.
Currently, i have been absolutely LOVING this jasmin and henna fluff eaze from lush. It literally transforms my hair into something much more manageable, soft and healthy looking. I would say, its price is totally worth what it does to your hair and one container actually lasts you about a year if you’re using other products in your hair care routine. (i’ve had mine for almost a year and a half now, so its really worth the price.)
My second favorite hair treatment would have to be Roots from lush (do you sense a trend here?) closely followed by The Hair Doctor. Although i have healthy hair to begin with, i can’t stop myself from using hair strengthening treatments like these to ensure it stays the same. I guess thats a lesson you learn after disregarding your hair for years. Its not going to be nice to you forever, trust me.
One other VERY common mistake all of us constantly make is washing our hair with HOT HOT HOOOTT water. Having been there and done that, i would advise all your guys out there to NEVER do that again. I know, with the winter season here and all, its very hard but trust me, its well worth the effort. I usually turn the temperature to more so a warm–neutral range when i’m washing my hair (and roots) specifically. Hot water not only strips your hair off of its natural oils making it dry and brittle, it also opens up the pores and cuticles of your hair shafts, thereby making it easier for hair fall to occur. (For a more detailed explanation and guide, click here.)
Once done with my shower, i like to towel dry my hair (patting NOT furious rubbing!) followed by massaging this Moroccan Argan Oil miracle product all over my roots and hair strands as a final taming step.
Note. If i am using heat on my hair, i use a different product combination after this. Comment below if you would like to see that!
Let me know if you love these products as much as i do!
Wish you guys a happy and healthy weekend!
Lots of love,
